What is findnix.eu?

findnix.eu is a European meta-search engine. We combine multiple search sources and show you the most relevant results — without tracking you, without filter bubbles, without advertising that spies on you.

What can I search for on findnix.eu?

findnix.eu offers several search areas: Web (general web search), News (current news), Images (photos from Pexels & Openverse), Videos (from Pexels), Science (open-access publications via OpenAIRE & BASE), Culture (European cultural heritage via Europeana), and Shopping (products from eBay & Amazon).

What is the comparison portal?

Through the comparison portal, you can compare insurance, finance, energy, internet tariffs, travel, and more for free — directly on findnix.eu without redirection.

Are my search queries stored?

No. Search queries are processed anonymously. We do not store IP addresses and do not create user profiles. The search history is stored exclusively locally in your browser.

Why do I see ads?

findnix.eu is funded through fair flat-rate advertising. All ads are clearly marked as "Advertisement." Advertisers pay a fixed monthly price — no bidding, no auctions. We show a maximum of 3 ads per page.

How does the search work?

We combine multiple sources: SearXNG (Google, Startpage), Brave Search API, as well as submitted sitemaps from our users. Results from submitted sitemaps are prioritized — this gives small websites a fair chance.

What do the source badges (PEXELS, OPENVERSE, eBay) mean?

For images and videos, we always display the source as a clickable link. PEXELS and OPENVERSE are providers of royalty-free media. Source attribution is mandatory and helps you find the creator.

What is "Highlight a listing"?

If your website already appears in the search results, you can highlight it with a blue frame and a ⭐. The organic order remains unchanged — you only pay 19 € per month for the visual highlight.

How do I submit my sitemap?

After registration, you will find a form under "Submit Sitemap." Enter your sitemap URL (e.g., https://your-domain.com/sitemap.xml). We will crawl it regularly and include your pages in our index.

Is there an API?

Yes! findnix.eu offers a public search API. You can find details on the API page.

What payment methods are available?

We accept payment by bank transfer (SEPA). After booking, you will receive an invoice. The booking will be activated after payment is received (usually 1–2 business days).

Can I cancel monthly?

Yes. All packages can be canceled monthly. There is no minimum contract duration.

Is findnix.eu GDPR compliant?

Yes. We do not use tracking cookies, do not store IP addresses, and do not share data with third parties. Our servers are located in Germany (EU).

In how many languages is findnix.eu available?

findnix.eu is available in 25 languages — all 24 EU official languages plus Swiss German.

🏆 Points System

What is the points system?
As a registered user, you automatically collect points for various actions on findnix.eu. 1 point equals 2.5 cents. You can redeem points for packages, highlights, or extras.

How do I collect points?
Points are awarded for: registration (5 pts), daily login (1 pt/day), completing profile (10 pts), submitting sitemap (5 pts), submitting individual URL (1 pt, max. 5/day), booking an ad (10 pts), booking a highlight (10 pts), actively embedding widget with at least 10 impressions (20 pts/month), wish fulfilled (50 pts), inviting a friend (30 pts), and making a donation (5 pts per € after receipt verification).

How do I redeem points?
Under My Account → My Points, you will find all available rewards: highlight, starter, business, or enterprise package, extra sitemap slots, and priority crawl. Points cannot be exchanged for cash.

Do points expire?
No — your points do not expire. They remain valid as long as your account is active.

Can I buy AI requests with points?
No. AI requests are only available through advertising packages (starter, business, enterprise) — not through the points system.

💡 Wishlist

What is the wishlist?
Through My Account → Wishlist, you can submit ideas and feature requests. If your request is fulfilled, you automatically receive 50 points. You can see the status of your request at any time (Open, In Progress, Fulfilled).

How long does it take for a wish to be fulfilled?
It depends on the effort required. We will comment directly on your wish when there are updates.

🔧 Widget

What is the findnix widget?
As a registered user, you can embed a findnix advertising banner on your own website. For this, you receive 20 points per month — provided the widget has at least 10 impressions from different visitors.

How do I embed the widget?
Under My Account → Widget, you create your widget (max. 3 per account) and receive a JavaScript snippet that you simply insert into your website. Available sizes: Banner (728×90), Box (300×250), and Small (300×100).

When are the points credited?
Automatically as soon as your widget reaches at least 10 impressions in the current month. Once per month.

❤️ Donations

How does the donation module work?
Under My Account → Donations, you choose a charitable organization and set an amount. You will receive a donation receipt with bank details and a GiroCode QR for direct SEPA transfer via banking app.

When do I get my points for the donation?
After the transfer, you upload your transfer receipt (JPG, PNG, or PDF). Our team will verify the receipt and then credit you the points (5 points per donated euro). Processing usually within 1–2 business days.

👥 Invite Friends

How does the invitation system work?
Under My Account → Profile, you will find your personal invitation link. Share it via email, WhatsApp, or social media. As soon as someone registers through your link, you automatically receive 30 points.

Is there a limit to invitations?
No — you can invite as many friends as you like and earn 30 points for each successful registration.

🤖 AI Search

What is the AI search?
Through the 🤖 AI button next to the search field, you can access the AI page. There, you can ask questions and receive detailed answers from an AI model (Llama 4 Scout via GitHub Models) — free for all visitors.

How does the AI search differ from the normal search?
The normal search provides links to websites. The AI search answers your question directly in a flowing text — ideal for explanations, summaries, and knowledge questions.
