AERO 2015 Friedrichshafen: Departure from 24 Grass

Jump to 1:28 to skip all the waiting and go straight to lining-up and takeoff. After the AERO trade fair had closed its gates, all visiting GA pilots were leaving. Just before we arrived at the holding point for the runway 24 grass, a number of airplanes had just taken off from that runway and now it was the asphalt runway's turn for departures. We had to sit there for some 15 minutes and watch 4 motorgliders land on grass and more than 10 aircraft depart from the asphalt runway (not all of them are in the video) before we finally got our takeoff clearance. Density altitude was around 3000 ft, and climb performance of the little Rallye near MTOW isn't spectacular, but all was fine.
