This is the video of the ANSOLE's Session at the Science Summit of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (SSUNGA77). Unfortunately, we experienced some internet connection errors during the Zoom-conference, we apologize for the inconvenience. The session consisted of two segments and aimed to raise awareness of the urgency to build research and academic capacity in Africa, enabling sustainable development targeting SDG7 in Africa. The first segment presented the positions of researchers and academics from Africaβs regions β North, South, East, West, and Central. The needs of electricity access-deficit countries (such as Nigeria, Mozambique, South Sudan, etc.) received particular attention and the need to advance the role of women in research, teaching and professional work was emphasized.
