Pine64 Pinetab (Linux Tablet) First Impressions- Nice!
Taking a first look at Pine64's Pinetab (Linux Tablet), thickness, weight, grib texture, its keyboard, resources, Youtube playback performance, thermal heat, ports, charger, and more. It came with Ubuntu Touch preinstalled, which through multiple reboots, continued to flicker, until I was left with a black screen roughly 5min into the boot. I wanted to be sure it wasn't a hardware problem, so I threw on trusty Mobian. Handled wonderfully (felt at least as responsive/performant as Pinephone- and maybe I shouldn't be so surprised: the operating systems and hardware specs are pretty identical). Going by previous attempts by others at a Linux Tablet, we've seen them come and go. Some were big, some small, most exceedingly thick. The Pinetab was surprisingly thinner than my initial expectations. Linux tablet progress.
