While you've been embedded you've fallen asleep. In case you want to know whether it will be snowing today, you check the internet. Before the internet was invented you simply peeked out of the window. The ever presence of mass media, including the internet, has become a substitute for what was referred to as common sense in the past. Common sense can be defined as a blend of reason and experience. Experience, however, requires time. There is no tolerance for time on the internet. As soon as news is breaking, it gets replaced by even newer breaking news. In classical media one could tell the importance of a story by it's positioning within the publication. Important news became the headline and caught your eye by the placement in a newspaper. On TV the most relevant top story could be discerned by the time it was broadcast, by the show that picked up the story and by the time slot in which it was featured.
