Microsoft pushes for AI, even if the users don't want it, as long as they can sell it for a markup for corporations that will force their employees to use it on their corporate owned computers. Because private persons don't buy desktop and laptop computers anymore on their own expense, proprietary software corporations have no incentives to appease those people with their products.
