Ilulissat Icebergs

A timelapse of icebergs drifting around Disko Bay in the late evening aand early morning. Filmed over about 6 hours in May 2024. I have been lucky enough to get a few days off in Ilulissat, western Greenland on this trip, which I have been using to finalise some scientific papers. I've been studying calving processes for more than 20 years, but it's always great to have the opportunity to watch the icebergs over a longer period. I was curious to see how much they move around and set up a time lapse over night - though as it is the polar day up here now, it doesn't actually get dark.
