Portland on Tape - Hoyt Arboretum (No Music)
I've wanted to capture the misty, mossy beauty of Hoyt Arboretum for the past two years, including its oldest Douglas fir in the park (you'll know it when you see it). I'm proud to say the stars have now aligned, and I get to share this wonderful work with you! Filmed in Portland, Oregon on December 5, 2025. Standard Definition (SD) video is only 16% the resolution of High Definition (HD), and a microscopic 4% the resolution of 4K. Captured on analog cassette tapes, the long-discontinued VHS format was the dominant form of home media entertainment in the '80s and '90s. I grew up watching my favorite movies on VHS, and Portland is just the city for that analog feel. I know I'm right at home with the dreamy look of magnetic tape. **EQUIPMENT:** **Camera:** Panasonic PV-L780D VHS-C Analog Camcorder **Lens:** Panasonic 26x Optical Zoom 3.8-98.8mm **Format:** VHS-C tapes (Sony VHS-C Premium Cassette - 30 minutes) **Stabilization:** Handheld **Audio:** Internal Twin Capsule 2-Way Microphon
