The Darter Pro 9 Dead Battery
The System76 Darter Pro 9 has returned to me and not with good news. Instead, I was greeted with a spicy brick bulging inside the computer and after 15 minutes of prying open screws on the computer and DaVinci Resolve being a pain at rendering, I have more hesitations recommending System76 to people. Of course, this is excluding the issues like their firmware being some Ubuntu exclusive tool that gets repackaged for Fedora, Arch Linux, and NixOS for their non-standard version of coreboot, Secure Boot being disabled out of the box and not just copying Ubuntu or Fedora's Secure Boot key, failing to keep up with Ubuntu LTS updates, or the perpetual fingerprint smearing on the touchpad and chassis. This also isn't mentioning the fact that Pop!_OS has had crippling bugs like Steam uninstalling X11 or LibreOffice creating dependency conflicts and general chicanery of Linux problems, enough to anger Linus Tech Tips.
