Winter Arrives: Getting Firewood + Thunder God Warning?

I've been trying to get ahead on cutting firewood as we've had a somewhat extended period of dry weather through late autumn- since I cut a lot of fallen dead wood, it helps to get it off the ground when it's dry! Last week we had variable forecasts with chance of rain or flurries so Monday I went out to the bush to get some wood off the ground while it was a mix of sun and cloud! I was cutting for a bit in the edge of the woods, it had become more cloudy, and suddenly I heard thunder- wasn't expecting that! Hurried out to a more open spot to look to the west, and sure enough there was a storm with a visible rain area off in the distance. It might miss us, might not, but I didn't want to be caught with a lot of wood on the ground, so I quickly hauled some stuff back home, and stashed the rest under trees where it could stay dry.
