Preziosi e Precari

The starting point for these works were the collected objects in the “Hall of Royal Valuables” in the Royal Palace in Dresden. The focus was not only on valuable materials such as gold, ivory and pearls, but also on terms such as "cabinet of wonder", "curiosity" and "minority". The intervention is intended to question the logic of collecting itself. Showcases in the historical collection are temporarily equipped with objects from the 21st century to point out defects, misconceptions or false conclusions. The critical approach is combined with the pleasure in the materiality, opulence and decadence of the objects and the place. The intervention was part of the special exhibition *Admired, collected, and put on display.
