Animal enclosures at Burgers’ Zoo, Arnhem, Netherlands

Animal enclosures in the 1980s and 1990s with footage of ‘Desert Hall’ and ‘Burgers’ Bush, which were quite an achievement at the time, and still are. The construction and design of the enclosures is shown, while the then director Antoon van Hooff explains what characterizes a good enclosure, both in terms of animal welfare and conveying the right message to visitors.
