Collaborative assembly: a human-centric vision for Industry 5.0

What happens when humans and robots collaborate, safely, intelligently, and inclusively? In SkillAIbility project, we’re seeing collaborative robots (#cobots) and an Autonomous Guided Vehicle (#AGV) transform manufacturing into a shared workspace where robots support, not replace, human operators. Multiple cobots of different sizes are deployed across an interactive motorbike fork assembly process, where: ✅ The AGV autonomously delivers heavy components ✅ A large cobot lifts and holds the fork in position ✅ Smaller cobots assist operators with interactive sequences ✅ All workstations are fully open, no cages, maximum safety 📉 The goal? Reduce physical strain, repetitive stress, and safety risks while improving process flow, ergonomics, and human-machine synergy.
