2023 SouthEast LinuxFest - In this talk I will tell you about hacking unusual things. I will tell 4 different stories about how I hacked 4 different things: starting from more traditional domain of hacking printers and networks and finishing with hacking rules and policies. 1. Hacking printers. How (and why) we hacked cannon printer and turned it into a simple jukebox 2. Hacking networks. Imaging wou are trapped inside a server and no outbound internet connection is allowed. Can you still make outbound calls? Turns out this is still possible. 3. Hacking local network cables. I was lazy to lay down the local home network and found a way to hack existing cables. 3. Hacking rules / policies. Every wondering is there is a real-life sudo like phrase that will allow you to hack stupid rules? I think found just one.
