Vita Brevis

When I heard that a harpist I know has the nerve cell disease ALS, I set myself the goal to write a tune for her. I wanted it to be a happy tune, but while working on it, a not so gleeful tune formed itself too. So I had two tunes. Then I found out that they could go together well enough.
