Banjo Cover - Salt Creek + Old Joe Clark

This is a medley of two folk tunes. Enjoy! The banjo is interesting because it has four strings and a fifth string halfway (or so) up the neck. When you capo to the key of A (two frets up, cause fiddlers like it in that key) the fifth string remains un-capo-ed. And unless you like the sound of an A7th chord all the time (hint: you don't) you have to re-tune the fifth string to an acceptable note. So most banjo players have spikes in their banjo's that allow them to handle that fifth string without re-tuning. Other people screw things into the side. I use a BIC Pen. You take the cap of an old BIC-pen cut it up and cut a little notch in it for the fifth string to rest in. It keeps a BIC-pen cap out of the ocean, and keeps me from having to put spikes on my banjo. The sound isn't quite as rich as spikes, but maybe it would be if you used a more expensive pen :) I apologize for frowning while playing. I actually enjoy myself believe it or not.
