Should You Buy a Vintage Bread Maker?

Bread machines are easy to come by at the thrift store or on eBay, but is it actually smart to buy one secondhand? We ordered a Welbilt ABM 100-3 — a model popular in the ’80s — to see how it stood up to more modern machines (spoiler alert: not too well). Although we wouldn’t recommend this particular model, trying it out did teach us what to look for if you’re thinking about buying one used.
