This little one, like its siblings, spent about 20 hours pipping the first hole in its egg, then about 3 to 5 hours pipping a line around the egg (also called zippering), before spending just five minutes pushing their way out! The most beautiful thing about this, to me, besides the fact that they're adorable, as is their little sibling, watching this whole process, is that this tiny being just made a gargantuan, exhausting effort to leave its egg, for a world it didn't know at all, yet. It's a pure act of faith in the future; of trusting that there's a reason to keep pushing forward. I think we can all learn something from babies.
