Is social media helping your writing?

I've been struggling to find the value in social media lately. It feels like going from bright colorful 90s McDonald's to gray-beige 2020s McDonald's where hamburgers are called "food products" and I only eat there out of shameful habit. I know I'm addicted to reddit. But do I need social media to find readers and network with other writers? Maybe? I still think the most important thing you can do for your career is to write more.
