Rahere Remembered

This is a slideshow of progress on an oil painting I did of Rahere's tomb in St Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield, London. Rahere founded the Church and Hospital of St Bartholomew, which we now simply call St Barts. I'm planning an embroidery in his honour, and when I was sketching in the Church, the vicar was making his rounds of the monuments and memorials, stopping at each to say a prayer for the deceased.
