SOB TRAVERSO (RABe 526 FLIRT) AUF DER GOTTHARD PANORAMASTRECKE

ENGLISCH/DEUTSCH: The Treno Gottardo has connected Basel and Zurich with Ticino via the historic Gotthard mountain route since December 2020. Services operate hourly on the Basel–Lucerne–Göschenen–Locarno and Zurich HB–Göschenen–Locarno routes, running via Arth-Goldau and Erstfeld through one of Switzerland’s most renowned railway landscapes. With the introduction of the Treno Gottardo, the direct, transfer-free connection from German-speaking Switzerland to Ticino via the Gotthard mountain line was reinstated, restoring the service pattern that existed prior to the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel. At the same time, the service supports tourism development in the Uri region and the Leventina Valley.
