II. Chapel of the Broken Knight

I do still have a Patreon, but you can follow me on Mastodon. -- The inner chapel was small and dark, though clusters of flickering candles illuminated the outlines of a shattered altar and broken pews. I could not see a crucifix. I was startled to see a knight in black armor kneeling at the altar's steps, their armor bound by thick golden rings. I could not see any part of the armor not linked, as though there was no way to take it off. I wondered if this had been done to the knight, or if they knight had done it to themselves. And then I heard a soft wail for forgiveness came from the knight in prayer. That voice.. it was her.
