Llangollen Canal 20230415

We went to Llangollen for the day, and a part of it was for the horse drawn canal boat trip. However, due to the water level being low the boat grounded before the first bridge. The horse pulled us back for a second try but to no avail. Again the boat was pulled back and a second horse was brought in to help. That horse pulled so hard the rope snapped and we were stuck again! After another try it was decided to give up for the safety of the horses, and we were pulled back to the start. It made for a much more exciting trip than expected and although we were all offered a refund we declined. They had worked for it and it wasn't their fault the boat grounded. It did mean we had a good look at the horses, and saw how they all coped with the unforeseen problem.
