Rural #jamuary2022 - day 02
Second jam for #jamuary2022 Normally I start with making music, but this time I wanted to make something that would fit with the heritage footage I had found in the Internet Archive. It's a small documentary on rural poverty in the USA. It's dated 1965, but to me it could just as easily have been much older. For some time, I've also wanted to make something "organic" with the Polyend Tracker. Something which you wouldn't normally use a tracker for. I started with creating my own samples: a kids shaker, slapping down a book and some guitar. Made some adjustments in Audacity and exported it to the Tracker. I used the Tracker to arrange the samples. In the end I only added a tiny bit of phaser to make the end-result a bit less steady. To me it sounds like a very minimal bluesy kind of track and I think it fits the visuals very well. The video is a (mostly) slowed down re-edit of some of the "Poverty in Rural America" footage. Thanks for watching! Tools used: - Samples: kid shaker
