The Mad Lover Suite (V. Aire, Ground) - John Eccles
EDIT: Just found out about the composer of this piece by accident when listening to Max Richter's "Love Song (After JE)", which is based on a piece from "The Mad Lover Suite" by English baroque composer John Eccles (1668β1735). This is a piece of music that I fell in love with some time ago and decided to adapt it for guitar. My version is based on a recording of the piece by the Lautten Compagny where they play mostly music from John Playford 's English Dancing Master songbook. This is an anonymous ground from that era. It's played on the record with what I think is a theorbo (and lute?). The low string here is tuned down to B on standard tuning. https://www.lauttencompagney.de/cd/chirping-of-the-nightingale-mr-playfords-english-dancing-master/
