Jazz Advent Calendar 2025: Day 22 - We Three Kings 👑

Welcome to Day 22 of the 2025 Jazz Advent Calendar. Today, I’m playing "We Three Kings," a jazz waltz that tells the story of a journey to Bethlehem. As we listen to this song about the Nativity, we must remember the reality of the geography. The Kings traveled to Palestine. Jesus was a Palestinian child born under occupation. The land celebrated in our carols is a real place with real people who are currently facing erasure. I am dedicating Day 22 to the Hind Rajab Foundation. Today, the children of Palestine are not being visited by kings bearing gifts, but are facing unimaginable violence. The Hind Rajab Foundation is fighting to protect the people of this land by holding Israel accountable for its crimes in international courts. They are demanding justice in the very birthplace of the "Prince of Peace."
