Laser cutter not making horrible crunching noises.

It was a bit neglected. I took out the gantry and cleaned a hundred years of wood resin off many parts, but particularly some off the left hand tube rail that the gantry runs on. This morning after the cleaning it was still crunchy in some spots, but after a smear of lithium grease on the rail, it's singing like it's brand new.
