Do broadcast market clone InfoLithium batteries work in vintage Sony equipment?
Most of Sony's digital cameras and camcorders from the late 1990s and early 2000s use the InfoLithium L-series battery. Sony has not manufactured replacement batteries in almost 20 years, but the battery itself became a standard in the broadcast video market, with third parties making both equipment (we have lights and field monitors at the station that use them) to use the batteries, and the batteries themselves. Today these third-party broadcast-market batteries can be bought easily and affordably, but will they work in vintage Sony equipment, which often won't accept batteries that don't properly implement the InfoLithium circuitry?
