A look at a Sony SLO-1800 SuperBetamax VCR

A beast of a Betamax VCR that I only recently learned was lurking in the TV station's storage room. Will it work, or is it another 30 lb paperweight? Update: I unfortunately discovered during a longer recording test that there are bad capacitors, or some other issue, that causes the head drum to slow down and eventually stall during recording or playback. Replacing capacitors in the head drum servo circuitry and on the head drum itself did nothing (it actually worsened the condition), so I will be washing my hands of it and sending it to someone who is interested in it. It was fun while it lasted.
