Ellingsen It is impossible to improve on Blake's orchestral arrangement -- my cover version is only intended to bring a slightly different flavour. You'll probably prefer the original. An obvious difference compared to the classic recordings is Eivor's relatively untrained voice compared to the world-class boy sopranos (Peter Auty, Aled Jones) that we know and love. To me the imperfections communicate some of the child-like wonder of the scene in The Snowman more strongly than a musically perfect performance, but that's just a point of preference. I was very happy that Sara (13), agreed to play the clarinet parts. In fact the only actual musician here is Ingvald -- always an honour to work with you! The recording exactly matches the 1982 recording in tempo and may be listened to together with the pictures from The Snowman (I can't post that online for copyright reasons).
