Live Coding Prototype: Attempt 1 (Hydra, p5.js + tone.js)
I found out about live coding recently. This was a prototype to try setting something up as a base for doing a live performance in the future. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_coding The circles are generated randomly on every keyboard input. Their size is mapped to the kick drum and the vertical position mapped to the snare. I can also toggle a key that turns the keyboard into an isomorphic keyboard, so I can play melodies over the top. The libraries I used were: Hydra: https://hydra.ojack.xyz/ p5js: https://p5js.org/ Tone.js: https://tonejs.github.io/ I loaded some images and sound samples from my website: https://bearmask.io I'm planning to experiment more with mapping different parameters to different visuals, as well as trying to make refreshing smoother. Basically this was a first attempt to put in most of the elements I wanted to use, but I still want to experiment more and turn it into more of a performance.
