coin acceptor working with visual pinball x

I built a circuit using a voltage divider to drop the 5v supply from an EG start usb arcade controller board to 2V to drive a PC817 optoisolator to open a connection to 'press' a button on the EG start which is assigned to 'insert coin' on visual pinball x. The opto is triggered when a coin is accepted by the coin reader, this opens a transistor which allows current to flow from 2V to ground through the opto and coin mechanism.
