Fannie Lou Hamer - a biography by Stephon Gray
A biography of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer, written by Stephon Gray. Created in the Adult Literacy Resource Center of the Martin Luther King Memorial Library in the District of Columbia. http://dclibrary.org This multimedia was originally created using SimpleCard, a $5 Macintosh program created by Niklas Frykholm, in Sweden. We used ClarisWorks Draw program to design the screens. Sound was recorded using a PlainTalk microphone. We created this multimedia on a Performa 6290 that was the last of Apple's philanthropic donations (circa 1994.) Grateful thanks to Peter Miller, of Brookline, Massaschusetts, who played an important role in making that grant happen. This multimedia was shown by Stephon Gray and Phil Shapiro as part of the keynote address at the Computers in Adult Literacy Conference in Philadelphia, in May, 2000. https://phennd.org/organization/mayors-commission-on-literacy/ https://web.archive.org/web/20230506022859/https://opensource.com/users/pshapiro
