The larger tentacles of a Collosalele prevent them from slipping on the ice cap of the penumbra tundra due to their strong suction cups; they can also use them to run incredibly fast. During the three month long daytime, these cephalopods reside in the ocean to keep themselves warm; it's not until night time (also three months) that they make their way onto the penumbra tundra. Their bioluminescent eyes light a path for them in the great darkness. Their cranial fins help them in water and help them detect changes in the climate.
