It's that they met the tower's owner, Professor Pithacraust. Only the smartest being in the known multiverse; he's been studying every single thing in the multiverse and has been archiving it in his tower. He is even responsible for writing the philosophies of metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, epistemology, political philosophy, and logic.
