Creating an Ork-scale Ithaca Model 37 in Blender

Some years ago I was creating a set of weapons digitally for some Warhammer 40,000 compatible miniatures. I used Blender for this and created a timelapse for my father so he might understand what 3D modelling entails (he seemed to be fixated on the notion that I would make a large scale physical model, scan it, and then... yeah, no idea).
