36.0 Echos / Echo #19 - Life on the Farm - 3

CW: sounds of butchering (but not slaughtering) pigs This echo was recorded on my Zoom H5 with XY mic capsule on May 28, 2021, edited today. I couldn't edit almost 1hr of recording down to 36sec, so today you get 144sec (4x36). I spent a week on my friends' farm and this is a snippet of that time when I helped butcher the pigs. Yes, that's the reality of a farm as well. The pigs you heard 2 days ago, 2 of them, a male (Alex) and a female (Betsie), were killed for food for the family and friends. At the time, they had 3 adults and about half a dozen of piglets, but I believe they stopped entirely now because it's just too pricy to raise pigs just for their own consumption. Even though my friends knew very well what they were raising the pigs for, it was still hard for them to do the slaughtering, because they love their animals.
