Hardware Hacks: Vectrex 3D Imager Build
Taking a quick break from the larger machine refurbishments let's do a quick project on one of my favourite consoles, the Vectrex. Whilst there are projects that attempt to fully recreate the original colour wheel based Imager we're going to take a simpler option and put together a version made by Mountain Goat. https://github.com/mountaingoate/vectrex/tree/master/hardware/3dglasses Parts used: Stripboard with isolated pads (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332626034917) Arduino Nano (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262738901345) L293D Motor IC (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182307853810) Panasonic TY-ER3D5MA Shutter Glasses (although many Shutter lens glasses should work) Megadrive Controller (or just the cable).
