It comes down to bank switching. We use a proven bank switching technique which works on all 2600 hardware systems, which run the game in ROM. But emulator-based systems (Retron, Atari 2600+) need to first download the game into RAM, where the Stella emulator runs the game. Circus Convoy runs in Stella, as it bank switches perfectly. So whereβs the issue? Itβs in reading the code from ROM to get it into RAM. The system OS (not part of Stella) needs to recognize all bank switch techs so it can read the ROM one bank at a time to get it into RAM.
