Thunderbird 91+ Digitally sign/encrypt emails with OpenPGP
## Setup In Thunderbird 91+ Go to the menu on the right, select `Account Settings` Go to `End-To-End Encryption` Go to `Add Key` Select `Create New PGP key` It's recommended that the Key expires eventually (here 1 year) Keep the `Key Type` as `RSA` Change the `Key size` to `4096` Click on `Generate Key` Click `Confirm` You can export the file that contains your public key block anywhere. ## Use cases ### sign email Letβs try e-mailing someone to see what a signature looks like. βDigitally Sign This Messageβ is NOT encryption. ### encrypt email Encrypting the email will only work if you have the recipients Public PGP Key Block.
