Pipeline Workers Stopped From Destroying Cultural Site
SHARE WIDELY - Coastal GasLink contractors trespassed again yesterday to destroy a culturally significant area to our people. When confronted by our chiefs, matriarchs, and supporters, CGL packed up and left the site. We have never been consulted about the destruction of this archaeologically and culturally significant area. Although CGL is legally required to have an archaeologist present at this site, they didn't. They continually attempt to illegally do their work and impede our access to our yintah. We have every right to monitor our territory as we have for thousands of years and we will always continue to protect it, as is our ancient responsibility. Our laws are made in our balhats (feast hall) and we will always uphold our DinΓ― zeβ decisions. We are responsible to them and our future generations. Join us. Come to camp. This is far from over. https://www.yintahaccess.com/link-in-bio #WetsuwetenStrong #NoTrespass #WedzinKwa #CGLofftheYintah #Sovereignty #Solidarity #DefendTheYint
