English Collective of Prostitutes - Sex Workers Fighting Police, Illegality, and Racism
Sex workers are faced with a crisis caused by rising poverty and criminalization; thousands of women are raided, arrested, cautioned, and even imprisoned every year. Yet the contribution that sex workers make to the survival of families and even whole communities is rarely acknowledged, and our struggle for decriminalisation is rarely counted as an important part of the movement against injustice. Here two members of the ECP talk about the legal and campaigning victories and resistance during the Covid crisis, such as sex workersβ struggle to expunge our cautions and convictions, and migrant womenβs struggle against evictions and deportation. This is followed by a QnA session with bookfair attendees.
