Using items that are out of sight

There are sometimes where the game automatically scrolls the inventory. This results in the current item no longer being in sight. While triggering this mechanic manually is useless as far as I know, this video shows that you can use the current item by pressing Enter even if you can't see the current item when opening the inventory. When doing so, the inventory automatically scrolls to the place where the current item is.
