Using the keyboard to use or give items

One of the trickiest things about the inventory when using the new graphics is that it's very hard to know where an item will be when you open the inventory, so selecting the item with the mouse is tricky. Luckily, you can select an item the Enter key, meaning you won't have to move the mouse. There's no visual cue of which item you will select, so you make sure you open the inventory, position the mouse on the right item, and then close the inventory. Then, to use or give an item, open the inventory by pressing I, press Enter (to select the item), press I again (to close the inventory) and click on the object you want to use the item with or the person/animal you want to give the item to.
