Selecting the first rope and getting to the pond

Right after using the lens with the sun, open your inventory and select the rope, positioning the cursor on the bottom right corner of the box containing the rope. Doing so will not only make it easier to use the rope in the crack, but it will also position the cursor on the river, which you can click to get to the pond faster.
