This video examines a media piece that looks back at the legacy of Ronald Wright's book, "A Short History of Progress." **Important Note**: more recent research has revealed that the introduction of rats when Rapa Nui (Easter Island) was first inhabited by Polynesian colonists was the ultimate cause of deforestation, contradicting the narrative from Wright that it was primarily the human inhabitants that were responsible.
