Using Sysinternals' Psping.exe for testing Network Latency
Network latency impacts VoIP, gaming, and many critical applications. Understanding how to test latency is critical for the admin and IT pro. We will demonstrate the components of Sysinternals' Psping.exe needed to accurately test and evaluate network latency. We will demonstrate how to configure the Psping server process on a remote host and how to properly set up the client to test your network for latency. We will cover parameters for latency testing and demonstrate how to understand the results. Capturing data and evaluating your network latency data is critical to the utility. We will look at histograms and how data is captured, create βcsvβ files and plot histograms using Excel. Become a member to watch our next video series using Psping.exe to test "bandwidth".
