Marisa Abela admits she is 'vain' after her battle with thyroid cancer

Marisa Abelahas admitted she is 'still slightly vain' following her battle with thyroid cancer because the condition has made it more difficult to manage her weight. The Industry star, 29, was diagnosed with the disease in 2020 aged just 23 and had to undergo an eight-hour operation to remove the tumour. Once the gland is removed, this can cause hypothyroidism which slows the body's metabolism as it is not making enough hormones. In a candid interview on the How To Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, Marisa opened up about how this has changed her relationship with her body.
