'Callous' thug sends pensioner crashing to the ground as he snatches her bag

This is the moment a 'callous' thug on a bike sent an old lady crashing to the ground as he snatched her handbag on a busy shopping street.Daniel Bell, 32, has been jailed for robbing the 84-year-old woman outside Marks and Spencer on The Pavement, York, on 21 July last year.CCTV footage from inside the shop shows Bell approaching the pensioner in broad daylight and climbing onto his bike.He then grabs her bag and begins to ride away, ripping it from her grasp.The lady is thrown forcefully to the ground and left sprawling on the pavement.She suffered a painful injury from smacking her head on the paving slabs.
