Could a by-election entice Andy Burnham back to Westminster?

A by-election will be called in the Gorton and Denton constituency after the medical departure of Andrew Gwynne. It could pave the way for a bid by Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham to win the seat and return to Westminster politics. He has been critical of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and it is thought he may be a leadership contender in the future although he has said that people 'shouldn't get a head of themselves.'
